Mahjaab is an innovative brand manufacturer of a fashionable Hijab line targeted at females of all ages, particularly young Muslim women. It intends to market its line as an alternative to existing hats and scarves lines, and differentiate itself by uniqueness, multi-usefulness and stylishness.
Being passionate about life and creating new ideas, Mahjaab is shaped based on a simple idea: A range of headwear to go beyond just the simplistic array of scarves with mundane designs and enter the 21st century to accommodate the modern women to not only be able to practice their beliefs but also express themselves and their incredibly unique sense of style in various occasions. The name stands for a ‘beautiful covering that brilliance the face looking like a full and radiant moon’.
Creating a healthier and new look for Muslim females, particularly using various designs and eco-friendly fabrics that maintains healthy skin and hair, causing air and sun (as the main source of vitamin D) passing through; a significant matter that gets little attention with women’s hijab.
Furthermore, Mahjaab aims to make a contribution towards the advancement of the current plain and unhealthy forms of headwear hijab to a wider variety with a full range collection. By using Mahjaab’s products, women find less interest in using various cosmetics to beautify themselves but more choices and confidence to smarten themselves.
The vision of Mahjaab is two-folded:
- Providing a new look for consumers, based on beauty, style, quality, applicability and comfort as well as culture and health requirements;
- Using dress codes of the two major civilisations of the West and Islamic world to facilitate an effective cross-cultural communication method, between Eastern and Western cultures.
This vision is based on the fact that we believe dress codes in various cultures and societies are as important as many other important identity elements such as language, art, food, music and politics.
Furthermore, perceiving clothing and physical appearance as one of the communication variables – which might be seen as differences in men’s and women’s social status or carrying a value or meaning in every community – we intend to enhance knowledge about these identity elements, through creating a new dress code, containing both Islamic & Western civilisations’ symbols.
We believe creating a new dress code could have a positive impact on enhancing perceptions of members of multicultural societies about each other’s objectives while paving the way for more cross-cultural and tolerable interactions and socialisations; A matter that could help to ease the current socio-political tensions.
Our Mission is to provide a new look for consumers, based on beauty, style, quality, applicability, multifunctional, comfort and culture. For this:
- Mahjaab is willing to use high quality craftsmanship which could improve the creativity of consumers and avoid consumerism.
- Thus, our products are mostly designed reversible and multifunctional as they could be used in different ways and events.
Mahjaab’s other mission is to provide a healthier outfit for its target audiences. We use various designs and fabrics that maintains healthy skin and hair, causing air and sun (as the main source of vitamin D) passing through; a matter that gets little attention with women’s headwear/ or/ hijab in particular. For this we are willing to use eco-friendly materials, such as: Organic cotton, Bamboo (that helps to improve soil quality and helps rebuild eroded soil), Soya fabric (that is renowned for its softness, comfort, sheen and drape combined with wash ability and durability and strength). Also fabrics with a coarse texture, e.g., mesh/ or/ net fabrics, or embroidered fabric with holes. At present the fabrics are selected after an extensive field research and marketing from the markets in Britain and Iran.
However, our fabric marketing strategy is two-folded: 1) using Nano-fabrics (that are textiles engineered with small particles that give ordinary materials advantageous properties, such as super-hydrophobicity – extreme water resistance, also what is calls “Lotus effect” – that refers to self-cleaning properties that are a result of very high water repellence, as exhibited by the leaves of the lotus flower), also odor and moisture elimination, better elasticity and strength, and bacterial resistance; 2) using our own fabric texture and patterns.
Our other mission is to afford women with their inner glow, which illuminates on their faces and in the way they carry themselves. Mahjaab is about providing stylish and beautiful choices for women of all ages to renew their inner and consequently their outer glow. By using Mahjaab products, women find less interest in using various cosmetics to beautify themselves.
Mahjaab also hopes to make a contribution towards the advancement of the current plain forms of Hijab to a wider variety with a full range collection to consumers with different cultures. Thus, it hopes to pave the way for art and beauty to play a more significant role in the human’s life, both subjectively and objectively; a matter of improving consumers’ quality of life.
