5 – Digital Printing

Gone are the days of using costly and environmentally unfriendly dyes in clothes. As 3D printing became a thing, the most innovative fashion designers looked straight to printing with fabric and having a digitally produced item of clothing made in minutes via a computer. It actually reduces water consumption by up to 95% so is amazing for our planet too.

You Are What You Wear

Confidence and self-esteem have a massive effect on the way we go about our daily lives. And research shows that much of this can come from the clothes we wear. If you don something that makes you feel like you blend into the wallpaper, then your actions can follow.

Karen Pine of University of Hertfordshire conducted research into the psychology of fashion and found that people who wore certain outfits felt very differently about the everyday tasks they faced. Making sure that you feel comfortable is a major factor in the way that you live your life. We have seen how important that is with Mahjaab and we are determined to empower women globally to dress in a way that they feel great.

Mahjaab which stands for a beautiful covering that brilliance the face looking like a full and radiant moon is a manufacturer of fashionable Hijab for women of all ages. The aim is to stand out and be different to hats and scarves that are currently available through being unique and stylish. The company wants to learn about different cultures and dress to incorporate into designs for cross-cultural headwear.

One of the main aims for the company is to create headwear which maintains healthy skin and hair and allowing air and sunlight to pass through. This is something that is not usually focused on and does not get any attention in women’s Hijab products.

Mahjaab Takes Part in Fashion Forum

MJ’s designer, Founder and Director, Dr Mahboubeh Sadeghinia, attended the Limkokwing University of Creative Technology Fashion Forum in Piccadilly, London on May 8, 2015. The forum was themed ‘The Emerging Importance of Ethics in Fashion’, and focused on conscience form of production and presentation in the fashion industry.

The forum consisted of a series of talks and workshops that discussed ethical practices in fashion design, highlighting key ethical players in fashion design and retail to serve as a guide for emerging fashion designers.
